Lambton Shores residents work hard for their money. When they pay municipal taxes, they deserve to know exactly where those dollars go — and why. Chris believes that open, accountable government isn't a luxury; it's the baseline.
What I'll do on council
Push for clear, plain-language budget summaries that every resident can understand — not just those with accounting backgrounds.
Ask hard questions about spending proposals before they're approved, not after the money is spent.
Advocate for regular public reporting on how approved budgets are being spent versus what was planned.
Oppose unnecessary spending increases without clear justification and community benefit.
Fair Parking — For Residents & Tourists
A balanced approach that protects neighbourhoods while welcoming the visitors who support our local economy.
Parking in Lambton Shores is a flashpoint every summer. Residents feel pushed out of their own streets, businesses worry about customer access, and visitors face confusing rules. Chris has studied how other Ontario communities have tackled this — and he's ready to bring those lessons to Ward 1.
What I'll do on council
Resident parking permits: one free per household, with the option to purchase one additional permit — so residents always have access to their own streets.
Spillover protection zones and resident-only spaces near residential streets during peak periods.
Peak-day enforcement during high-tourism periods to ensure the rules are actually followed.
Explore a peak-weekend shuttle from remote parking lots to ease pressure on downtown and beach parking — a model used successfully in Wasaga Beach, Barrie, Collingwood, and Lakeshore/Belle River.
Street Safety — E-Scooters & Golf Carts
Clear rules, practical enforcement, and a made-in-Lambton-Shores approach to shared roads.
As a paramedic for 30 years, Chris has seen firsthand what happens when roads aren't safe. Lambton Shores roads are shared by a wide mix of users — and the rules need to reflect that reality, with practical solutions that work for residents and visitors alike.
What I'll do on council
Residents have voiced real concerns about the safe use of e-scooters on our streets. I'll work with council to look at how we can address these concerns and ensure our roads stay safe for everyone — drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike.
Open to exploring residents' concerns about crosswalks, street lighting, and sidewalks around town — with the support of council.
Having researched golf cart use in other Ontario municipalities and spoken with residents, Chris would support council exploring options that help citizens utilize this accessible and practical form of local transportation.
Additional Positions
Public Beaches
Firmly against any privatization of public beaches — they are a resident asset and must remain that way. Open to public beach volleyball courts, provided they are legally permitted.
Healthcare Access
Drawing on his extensive knowledge of the healthcare system, Chris will explore ways to attract more medical services to Grand Bend — because access to care shouldn't require a long drive.
Community Events
Supports community events like The Summer Sunset Series and The Winter Carnival for Grand Bend. Chris would love to see more family-friendly events to draw families to town and strengthen community spirit year-round.
